When Aristotle said, “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies," and when Voltaire said, “Love is a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination,” and Maya Angelou, “In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours,” and Eva Gabor, “Love is a game that two can play and both win,"  we feel that they meant to express something as we saw in the engagement photos of Anita and Kevin. When our engagement photographer met the couple, they knew that they will have a great time working together and taking photos. Anita and Kevin were sure of the kind of photo session they were looking for and had decided to dress up stylish and stunning. The location for the photoshoot was Constitution Gardens, a picturesque beauty of a venue! And for the day, these two lovebirds decided on matching outfits, in style, and looked as though they just stepped out to attend a ball or a party! 

Nestled along the scenic shores of the Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore beckons with its captivating blend of historic grandeur, cultural richness, and cosmopolitan charm. This city of understated elegance is a true gem, offering a refined yet welcoming atmosphere that will enchant even the most discerning travelers. As you meander through Baltimore's streets, you'll be captivated by its architectural splendor. From the graceful rowhouses that line cobblestone lanes to the stately landmarks dotting the skyline, each structure tells a story of the city's illustrious past. The historic Inner Harbor, with its picturesque waterfront promenade, exudes a timeless allure, inviting you to savor the maritime heritage that has shaped Baltimore's identity. Although Anita and Kevin loved the city, their engagement photo session location was about an hour away from the city. Since the two were planning their wedding and were still deciding on the theme, they wanted to choose a photo location that was in harmony with their wedding venue. Being in the middle of their wedding planning, they were ironing out many details. However, the venue for the wedding had been booked and was the beautiful waterfront venue, Celebrations at the Bay. To make sure that the outdoor engagement session was in sync with the venue’s aesthetic, which is why they chose the beautiful Constitution Gardens as their engagement photo location. Constitution Gardens is a tranquil oasis nestled in the heart of Washington, D.C., offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling city streets. Situated just north of the Reflecting Pool and west of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, this 50-acre park is a hidden gem that attracts visitors with its natural beauty, serene atmosphere, and historical significance. The centerpiece of Constitution Gardens is its picturesque lake, which provides a stunning backdrop for leisurely walks, picnics, and contemplation. Surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and towering trees, the lake creates a sense of calm and serenity, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and reflection. One of the notable features of Constitution Gardens is its memorial to the Signers of the Declaration of Independence. The memorial, consisting of 56 stone blocks, pays tribute to the brave individuals who put their signatures on this historic document, solidifying the birth of a nation founded on principles of freedom and liberty. Visitors to Constitution Gardens can also explore the picturesque pathways that wind through the park, offering scenic views and opportunities for quiet contemplation. Benches and shaded areas provide ample seating for visitors to rest and take in the beauty of their surroundings. The park is also home to various wildlife, including ducks, geese, and other waterfowl, adding to the natural charm of the area.

For their engagement photo session, the outfits were well-planned for the day! We loved the fact that these two had planned their outfits for the engagement session with our photographer. Kevin had decided to wear a beautiful two-piece suit. He chose a woody brown shirt, and beige dress jacket with a pair of pants in the same shade. To complete his outfit, Kevin chose to use casual shoes in tan with white soles. His entire outfit was pretty, and stylish, and looked semi-casual. To match the style of the groom-to-be, Anita, the bride-to-be, decided to put on a champagne color, a beautiful evening gown in every way. The off-shoulder with a flap that was attached to the hip, Anita looked absolutely stunning. Next to each other, the couple looked well-dressed and ready to tie the knot, and it warmed our hearts. Anita let her hair down, letting the natural curls fall to her shoulders. The beautiful location was just right for their outfits too! The pretty white buildings with black details, the banisters, and surrounded by greenery, the couple’s outfits stood out as much as they were in harmony with the beautiful location. We loved how these photos from the outdoor photo session turned out because it looked beautiful and exceptionally stylish. 

Since these lovebirds were an hour away from their home, they had decided to have a photo session during the day. All of the photos our engagement photographer took of the two were during the day. Although we’re fans of the golden hour when it comes to engagement photos, we absolutely loved Anita and Kevin’s afternoon glow! The day started with a great view. The moment our photographer and the couple entered the gardens, they knew that they had to take photos of every spot of the gardens! Our photographer spoke to the couple to understand what they were looking for in their photos, and understood exactly what to do! Our photographer helped the couple choose a beautiful spot to start with. Starting off with the banisters, a stone bench, and trees in the background, our engagement photographer knew was the right spot to start off! In the photo frame, the greenery took over and made the photo look absolutely stunning! We loved this spot because it made these two stand out! 

And this spot, our photographer used to create some impressive engagement photos. Our photographer for the day had a keen eye for style and understood the tonality that our couple was looking for. So, our photographer had the couple work with amazing “movie-like” poses. These poses made their engagement photos look as though they were meant for magazines! In the spot, our photographer took a few candid photos of the couple, as they were softly talking to each other. Then, this picture-perfect couple looked at our photographer, poised and classy, for an amazing photo. And the next photo that our photographer took of the beautiful couple was of them kissing each other. This lovely photo looked just as these two, pretty and made for each other. Kevin softly held Anita’s chin up so he could softly kiss her. Our photographer captured the moment, and then took some more candid photos! As the couple was breaking away from the kiss, our photographer also took the soft and romantic look that took over Kevin and Anita’s face after the photo. The couple smiled and gave a shy smile to each other before deciding to make use of the beautiful location! Anita and Kevin had a lot of spots to see, check and pose in! Before they walked away to more beautiful spots in the gardens, our photographer took some traditional romantic photos of the couple. One of them was a beautiful photo where Anita placed her hand on Kevin’s chest with their eyes closed, this is our favorite out of all of the photos. 

And then, the two asked the photographer to help them pose with the beautiful surroundings. The next spot was to take photos in front of the establishments in the gardens! Our photographer framed the photos in such a way that it not only captured our lovely couple and the beautiful architecture of the gardens! This helped Anita and Kevin to enjoy their time with the photos, and pose with happy smiles! The building in the background added a beautiful sense of grandeur to the photo session, which we appreciated greatly. Then the two walked back to the spot they started their photo session, and posed for some in-motion photos, which made them look like a part of a fairytale. This modern fairytalesque story of theirs was made even better with more photos that captured the essence of their love and romance. As the two decided on what to do next and which pose to strike, our photographer took a few more photos, candidly. And to be honest, every photo these two had taken together turned out as though they were professional models. 

To get the most out of this beautiful Washington D.C. engagement photo shoot location, our photographer and the couple walked towards the memorial building. The expansive white marble establishment with its vast columns made the engagement photos look impressive, old Hollywood-like, and exceptionally beautiful. Using the large spaces around, our photographer helped these two lovebirds find the perfect poses for their photos! The white background allowed the two to look like they were the only two around. The massive columns flanked them, and these two, as though the world was their oyster, posed for delicate, romantic portraits! Playfully teasing each other, making each other smile and softly sending “I love yous” in each other's way. As our photographer helped the two pose, they directed the last few shots to be even better. Our photographer asked Anita to play with the flap on her dress, which gave the photos an impeccable look. Everything about their photo session, including this was unique. 

And then, as the afternoon was turning into early evening, our photographer, Anita, and Kevin walked down to the lake, the cornerstone of the park, the prize of the venue, to take some photos. The lake and the cascading trees around gave this spot an ethereal look. To add to this modern love story dripping in style, this spot was just right and the perfect way to end the day. The calm water in the background and two people deep in love, this spot before the lake captured the raw beauty of Kevin and Anita’s love. The couple posed for some photos, and our photographer helped to take the last shot of the day. The one where Anita and Kevin walk in front of the lake is one of our favorites. This was the perfect way to end the perfect day. Anita and Kevin’s modern love, we think is best captured here and we love their choice of moving away from the photo shoot locations in Baltimore because this beautiful location was just right for their love story.
