Au Naturale and Freshly Engaged: Candice and Mike

02-21-20

This refreshing photoshoot comes as a welcome palette cleanser after the winter blooms, festive plaids, and the dark burgundies have slowly retired for the year. It is clean, airy and whispers gently of the tales the lay ahead-spring! The stunning couple hailing from ‘the City Beautiful’ (Orlando), Candice and Mike had a lovely engagement photo session in Washington DC. Dumbarton Oaks Museum & Gardens yields just the perfect backdrop to articulate the entire spirit of the shoot.

We love the no-fuss, natural and organic feel of this session and the abundant foliage that added to the fresh and clean frames. The venue delivered various nooks and backgrounds, adding that delicious pop of green to the photo session. This Orlando engagement session featuring age-worn winding stairways and walls, the red brick fencing, the iron clad-vintage detailing, and the classy vines gave this location a pristine and naturally classy character.

Candice looked heavenly in a pretty white dress with cut-out lace details. The delicate neckline and the midi length gave her an extra feminine touch. The pair of brown block heels brought the whole look together with perfect finesse. Candice kept the look minimum with barely-there jewelry, minimal but luminescent makeup, and her stunning curls. Mike brought in an element of interest with his fun floral shirt in blue, and a pair of beige pants to balance the look. Simple tan shoes completed his ensemble while his quirky glasses and an easy smile acted as the perfect accessory. The total look was easy on the eyes and non-contradictory and went with the venue like tea and honey!

The couple had a lot of space to explore, and their Orlando engagement photographer captured each frame with perfect grace. The picture with foliage vines and the concrete sculpture added a bit of old-world charm to the frame. The cascading greenery and the time-honored furniture around the enchanting concrete signage complimented the overall natural sentiment. The photo where Mike was seated on the outdoor bench and Candice leans in is a precious one that was captured delicately.

There is something quiet, earthy and wholesome about this Orlando engagement photography. The color composition was comforting, the poses were simple and the smile on their lips was real and honest. Sometimes all you need is a couple and the ‘vibe’ manifests itself. Sometimes you don’t need to shout your love from rooftops or need confetti, glitter, or balloons to declare it to the world. Sometimes, less is enough and ample! It clears the air and lets us see what matters the most-each other!
