Lush fields, lavender blooms and beachy breezes brought a surreal quality of nature to Ashley and Jake’s gorgeous late May outdoor engagement session. The couple had their Seattle session at Discovery Park just when Mother Nature was coming into full bloom to fill the air with sweet smells and bright, happy colors.

Situated on Magnolia Bluff, the Discovery Park is the largest city park in Seattle overlooking Puget Sound and offers stunning views of the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges. Covering a versatile range of natural reserves, Discovery Park is home to meadowlands, dramatic sea reserves, forest groves, active sand dunes, and thickets and streams, all which add to the breathtaking beauty of the park.

Ashley and Jake posed among the high grasses and beautiful wildflowers of the meadowlands, just before sunset. The timing couldn’t have been better as the light filtered in through the trees, golden and flattering, and made their Discovery Park photos even more romantic.

Ashley donned a long, breezy off-white dress while Jake kept it casual in a button up and jeans. Their simple but pulled together look perfectly complemented the natural setting of their Discovery Park engagement session.

Ashley and Jake didn’t appear to be nervous at all, and their Seattle wedding photographer beautifully captured their carefree chemistry in front of the camera. They had so many sweet, candid moments! We absolutely loved the feeling of spring within the photos, especially the tall purple flowers that dotted the setting with a pop of color and vibrant contrast.

At Sunset, the couple headed to the waterside for a few portraits. The landscape lit up by the warm sunlight looked so romantic as Ashley and Jake walked along the shoreline. Truly heavenly!
