Gallup Park

Located just a short distance away from Detroit is Gallup Park, the perfect spot for you to take gorgeous engagement photos. This park is 69 acres of natural beauty set on the shores of the Huron River and Geddes Pond. It’s one of Ann Arbor’s most popular recreation areas and a fantastic location for Detroit engagement photography. 

With many scenic walkways, wooded paths, and quaint pedestrian bridges that hop from island to island, you’ll have the time of your life as you make photos that will last a lifetime. Imagine sitting on the wooded banks of the wide, calm Huron River or leaning into the one you love over the river’s calm waters with the forest in the distance. The wooden bridges are a favorite for our photographers, along with the docks that reach out into the water and provide a breathtaking backdrop. 

In the spring you might catch the showy yellow flowers and thick dark leaves of the marsh marigold, or the bluish-green tussocks of the sedge. Come here at sunset and take photos under a painted sky overlooking the river.
