Set in the natural escape of Mission Trails Regional Park, Stephanie and Ryan’s engagement session featured a modern twist on romance and elegance. Just a few miles from downtown San Diego, Mission Trails Regional Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States and is a great space for a west coast engagement session.

 
Both Ryan and Stephanie looked fantastic for their engagement photography session. Stephanie was a vision in white, wearing a maxi dress featuring lace sleeves and an open back. Ryan chose a modern look, with handsomely tailored pants and a button-up shirt. He complimented Stephanie’s attire perfectly.

 
The couple explored the trails of the park while their San Diego photographer captured their candid sweet moments flawlessly.

 
Stephanie’s uniquely gorgeous engagement ring left us in wonder. We loved how this beautiful detail was highlighted in their photos. And the way it caught the light – just wow!

 
Stephanie also showed off a beautiful bouquet made especially for her engagement session. Made mostly of white and pale pink, her bouquet was ethereal, dreamy and so romantic. We love the use of smaller bouquets as props in engagement photography, as they bring a bridal element to the engagement session and also add a splash of color.

 
The sun shining between the trees gave the perfect, indirect light for the most romantic pictures. Overhead, indirect sunshine always brings flattering warmth to photos.

 
Adding a colorful, modern touch to their session, Stephanie and Ryan set off a blue colored smoke bomb. The vibrant blue haze blended into the natural scenery of the park making the whole setting outright marvelous. We loved the contrast of bold color in such a natural, ethereal setting.
