A love that’s larger than life demands an equally grand stage. Anna and Frederick found the perfect not-so-hidden gem at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, an iconic spot for Bay Area engagements and weddings photos.

Reflecting classical European style, their chosen locale is dramatically surrounded by a lagoon and deeply rooted in history. The Palace is located in the Marina District of San Francisco, the original setting for the monumental structure, which is one of the few surviving buildings from the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.

Taking full advantage of Northern California’s native beauty, their outdoor session was alive with gorgeous color and fresh texture. The variety of backdrops was incredible, from vibrant fields of wildflowers to open grassy clearings and lush gardens where tall dahlias bloomed bright. Adding to the enchantment, Australian eucalyptus trees fringe the eastern shore of the lagoon.

There was certainly no shortage of architectural elements to admire. Anna and Frederick posed against the mammoth, stately greek style columns, and embraced beneath the ornate rotunda for an artful perspective. The grand green doors of the Palace punctuated their photos with a burst of pattern and color.

The couple’s ever-changing wardrobe kept pace with the many settings at the Palace. Anna’s flowy pink pleated skirt was delicate but impactful. We liked that her lacy white crop top added a hint of bridal style while the skirt imbued pretty color. Frederick kept it casual in a button-up shirt and jeans, allowing them to comfortably explore their location.

Changing next into comfy hoodies and jeans, then into a flowy blouse for Anna, the two showed many facets of their style and personality as they posed on the steps and throughout the grounds. But no matter what they were wearing, Anna and Frederick looked relaxed and only had eyes for each other—even at a place this grand.
