Today, we’re looking back on Lu and Tony’s New York love story, a touch playful and contemporary while classically beautiful. From a stunning April session to a July wedding in the big city, come along with us while we revisit their journey to the aisle.

Classic new york imagery set the scene for the couple’s engagement session. Lu and Tony had their photographer meet them at the Brooklyn Bridge. Lu donning an elegant red gown, surely a nod to her chinese heritage, and Tony in a handsome blue suit, had photos captured in the perfect time of day - golden hour. Their photos on the bridge are so romantic! After that location, they journeyed to the DUMBO area of the city to capture the Manhattan Bridge, too. We love how dramatic this session was, from the lighting to the charm of the city with that vibrant pop of red.

Their big day was here before we knew it, and we joined them for an intimate ceremony and reception. The couple had a rooftop first look at the Boro Hotel, evoking the same look of their engagement photos. The big city was always nearby! Lu opted for a stunning fitted strapless lace and satin dress, While Tony was classically dressed in a black tux.

Group photos were taken at the hotel before the ceremony. We love the pop of yellow that appeared in their photos, thanks to the in-house cafe! And we couldn’t get enough of the photos of the ladies outside the hotel’s green door. Vibrant color and modern, linear backgrounds and touches of geometric shapes made their way throughout the backgrounds of Lu and Tony’s wedding photography.

For the reception, Lu changed into a different gown, this one cap sleeved with an illusion, embellished top. Lu and Tony entered their reception at China Blue hand in hand, and totally in love.

The couple’s day was totally unique, incorporating elements of romance and modern detail. We love how it evoked the vibrancy of the big city!
