When you fall in love with your wedding venue, it’s hard to believe you’ll only be there for a few short hours on your big day. So why not make the most of this special spot by snapping your engagement photos there? That’s exactly what Emily and Brandon did, capturing their fall engagement session at Homestead Manor in Nashville—less than a month before their wedding day. Talk about excitement!

We love this idea. Think of it as a preview to the main event. This way, Emily, Brandon and their Nashville engagement photographer were able to really scope out their location, get comfortable in front of the camera and take their time with every shot, without a crowd of guests or tight schedule to contend with.

The picturesque grounds were like a playground of natural backdrops—including an enclosed carriage ride and coffee beside a rustic fireplace! As Emily and Brandon strolled along the venue’s winding brick-paved paths, the sun streamed through the changing leaves, illuminating them with a golden glow. For added interest and texture, these two incorporated surrounding items as natural props, like a pumpkin or garden trellis, which may or may not serve as their wedding altar...

The simplicity of this Nashville couple’s session allowed their personalities and natural chemistry to shine. Every smooch, squeeze and adoring smile seemed totally unscripted. Almost as though we’re peeking in on a picture-perfect date. You can’t help but think, awwww.

An outfit change can really give variety to photos, especially if you’re at a more centralized location. Emily and Brandon’s formal look and casual fall outfits were equally lovely. Coordinating, but not matchy-matchy! Emily’s figure-hugging white lace sheath dress and Brandon’s something blue gave us a glimpse of what’s to come.
