Elm Creek Park Reserve

With a scenic 4,900 acres to roam, you’ll find no shortage of natural beauty at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Minneapolis. 

As the largest park in Three Rivers, the sites here are endless for Minneapolis engagement photography. Take in the sylvan surroundings of the Eastman Nature Center, particularly in the fall when the leaves put on a sunset show. Meander along miles of hiking and biking trails, just the two of you, with no place, in particular, to race to. 

Along the way, you might capture some local friends in the frame! Elm Creek is home to a variety of wildlife, including eagles, sandhill cranes, deer, bluebirds, beavers, loons, trumpeter swans and hawks - an exotic element, courtesy of Mother Nature. Lie in a field of black-eyed Susans for a pop of color and listen to the peaceful soundtrack of water flowing over secluded brooks. Two other essential photo ops within the reserve? The Noerenberg Memorial Gardens and Gale Woods Farm. Blooming with tranquility and vibrant beauty, the meticulously groomed gardens feature a unique assortment of annuals and perennials. Natural pathways lead to an ornamental gazebo that overlooks Lake Minnetonka. 

With its authentic rural character, Gale Woods Farm has all the makings of a classic country setting. Overlooking Whaletail Lake, it sprawls panoramic views of the pasture and gardens.
