Say I Do to Spring DIY Decor

03-01-18

Spring is right around the corner (19 days, not that we’re counting), and we’re feeling crafty. With flowers soon in bloom and everything anew, it’s the perfect time to dive into DIY decor that’s totally doable for your spring wedding. Here are a few of our recent faves.

Earthy Centerpieces

Make your wedding centerpiece the center of attention with fresh spring florals in pastel hues. Ground these light and airy arrangements with earthy elements of wood. To compliment that rustic, shabby chic-vibe, display blooms in mason jars, bud vases or mismatched vessels.

Character Study

This look has DIY wedding written all over it. Tell a compelling visual story with a composition of found objects from flea markets. Build height and interest by stacking vintage frames or books wrapped in luxe paper for a cohesive look. So poetic.

Go Green

Greenery in weddings is another way to think spring. We love flourishes of eucalyptus, moss, ivy and other greenery strewn plain and simple across long, communal tables, or incorporated into an elaborate centerpiece like a terrarium. It’s a fresh way to add fullness without flowers alone.

Unexpected Signs

Think outside the frame for wedding signage. An old window frame finds new purpose as a clear canvas to display the details of the day. Help guests navigate your event with charming chalkboard signs and handwritten messages on reclaimed wood.

Perennial Props

Transform your card table into an artful focal point, adorned with a vintage suitcase filled with fragrant lavender. Attach table assignment cards to potted plants so guests have a lasting reminder of your big day.

Garden Variety

Peonies are pretty, but if you want to make a stunning spring statement with your bouquet, spring for tulips. Simply gather a vibrant bunch the night before and tie the stems with a pretty ribbon.

Fancy That

Spring details are a natural fit for a rustic wedding, but we love them all dressed up, too. Mix spring elements with glimmering sequins, architectural candle holders and other unexpected elements for a modern twist.

Hooray for March (and marching down the aisle in DIY style).
