Savana and Rob’s Storybook Romance Was Moody, Romantic and Stunning!

September has a magic all its own, the kind you can feel but can’t quite put into words. It’s the month where summer softly lingers, holding onto the warmth, but whispers of autumn start to color the air. There’s something undeniably romantic about that transition—the golden quality of the light, the cooler evenings that make sweaters seem so inviting, and the way nature itself strikes this perfect balance. It’s no wonder so many couples are drawn to September for their engagement photoshoots. For many couples, September holds a special sweetness—it’s the month that reminds us how fleeting time is, urging us to savor every last bit of beauty before it changes. Choosing this time for your engagement shoot is like pressing pause on a moment that’s already perfect; the blend of summer’s uninhibited joy and autumn’s cozy intimacy feels so much like love itself.

And it’s not just the natural beauty of the season—September’s timing creates a sense of unhurried joy. Wedding planning may still feel fresh and exciting, and you can take time to focus on the two of you, capturing how you laugh, how you love, and how you dream together. September is a gift; what better way to celebrate your love than in its golden glow?

When we first met Savana and Rob, we were instantly smitten. They exuded this effortless charm and a deep, genuine connection that pulled us in right away. Listening to their story felt like flipping through the pages of an old romance novel—a tale of two people perfectly entwined, each complementing the other in all the best ways. When they told us they wanted their 2024 fall engagement session to take place at La Fina Restaurant in Andover, MA, we couldn’t have imagined a more fitting choice.

Savana and Rob didn’t just pick La Fina for its chic ambiance or fantastic menu, though both were certainly part of the draw. This restaurant held a special place for them—it’s where they spent countless date nights, deep in conversation, sharing laughter, and getting lost in their love for each other. For them, La Fina wasn’t just a restaurant; it was a part of their story.

This venue mirrors their dynamic perfectly—elegant yet laid-back, intimate but vibrant. Whether posing in the softly lit interiors or stealing glances on the patio, their session captured the essence of why they fell in love. It was their history wrapped into a moment, with the promise of the future glowing brighter than the summer sun.

Boston, with its timeless charm and rich urban texture, offers a canvas like no other for engagement photography. Its neighborhoods, parks, and waterfronts are steeped in character and history, each evoking its own mood and story. Choosing a place to commemorate such a pivotal moment isn’t just about finding what’s beautiful—it’s about finding what feels right for both of you. That’s why we work closely with each couple to discover the little corners of Boston that truly resonate. These images will reflect not just where you are in life, but where you’re heading—together.

The Boston Public Garden is a perennial favorite, and for good reason. Wandering through its manicured paths feels like stepping into a painting, one filled with glowing sunlight filtering through trees and the soft shimmer of the Lagoon water. Engagement photos here are often imbued with a quiet elegance, whether couples are laughing beneath a weeping willow or standing on the footbridge, the city humming softly behind them. Spring, with its vibrant tulips and blossoming trees, adds a hint of dreaminess, while autumn’s golden hues wrap every shot in warmth.

Nearby, Beacon Hill whispers of romance in its own way—its cobblestones are not just paths but storytellers, carrying the echoes of centuries gone by. Acorn Street, in particular, may be one of the city’s most photographed spots, but it’s never cliché when it’s your story being told. Hand-in-hand, strolling past red brick facades draped in ivy, your love becomes part of the neighborhood’s timeless allure. There’s something about the light here, soft and diffused by gas lamps, that feels utterly intimate, creating a sense that these moments are yours alone despite the bustling city just blocks away.

The Charles River Esplanade offers something different entirely. It’s where the city meets the water, and that meeting feels so akin to the merging of two lives in love. The bridges arch gracefully over rippling blue, and the skyline stands steadfast in the distance—a juxtaposition of natural serenity and urban strength. Whether framed by the delicate pink petals of cherry blossoms in spring or wrapped in the fiery reds of fall, photos along the Esplanade are full of movement and life. Some couples love to include the river itself, stepping onto a dock or even hopping into a rowboat to capture that unique blend of adventure and tranquility.

For those who seek modernity over tradition, the Seaport District provides sleek and contemporary backdrops while still holding onto Boston’s distinctive energy. Glassy facades mirror the harbor’s shifting hues, and the wide-open spaces feel light and free—a subtle echo of the possibilities ahead. Sunset softens the area’s edgy sheen, and the transition from day to evening, with golden light slipping into the twinkle of city lights, can add layers to your photographs. Walking together along the Harborwalk or posing at Fan Pier Park, with the city sprawled behind you, captures the buzz of something new and exciting.

And then there’s the North End, alive with old-world charm and brimming with history. Narrow streets lined with colorful shutters and tucked-away courtyards carry a distinctly European flair. Here, your engagement photos can feel like they’ve leapt straight from an Italian film. One moment you might be leaning against a warm brick wall in the glow of an antique lantern, the next sharing whispered laughter on a small green bench in Christopher Columbus Park. The park itself opens to shimmering views of the harbor, and its trellised archways add natural framing that feels both whimsical and nostalgic.

For couples who feel most at home in nature, Arnold Arboretum offers a sprawling canvas unlike any other in the city. Each season transforms this space into something breathtakingly unique. Spring rains down blossoms in every shade of pink and white, while summer finds the trees heavy with life. Autumn needs no introduction here—the Arboretum burns orange and gold in a way that feels almost otherworldly. Winter, often overlooked, blankets the landscape in quiet beauty. Paths wind through all of it, giving couples an almost storybook setting to share their quiet stolen moments.

Further afield, Castle Island draws those drawn to the sea. There’s something powerful about the way water meets the sky here, vast and unending. The backdrop changes so fluidly, from the weathered walls of Fort Independence to the stretch of shoreline that seems to go on forever. Standing together along the edge of the island with the waves whispering behind you and the city just faintly visible in the haze, it’s hard not to feel the magnitude of what lies ahead, full of both steadfastness and possibility.

Fenway’s Emerald Necklace provides another setting where urban meets green. Between the peaceful enclaves around The Fens and the towering trees lining the walkways, this part of the city holds a quiet vibrancy. Daylight filters uniquely through the lush greenery, and for baseball lovers, incorporating iconic Fenway Park nearby provides another layer of meaning to the photos. Often, it’s these little personal touches—the nods to what you love, what makes you both unique—that brings depth to the images.

Finally, for couples who feel most inspired by Boston’s history, Copley Square melds historic Boston with its new chapters. It’s impossible not to feel a sense of awe standing before Trinity Church, its reflection shimmering in the modern mirrors of the John Hancock Tower. The architecture speaks in contrasts—old and new—and can serve as a metaphor for two lives building something together, something that honors what came before while rushing eagerly toward everything ahead.

Each of these places tells a different story, but it’s the two of you who bring them to life. Whether it’s the heartfelt laughter shared on Acorn Street or the moment of quiet connection beside the Charles, the magic of these locations lies in how they highlight the love at the center of it all. Boston, in its varied beauty, doesn’t just provide a backdrop. It cradles your story, weaving itself into the fabric of a moment that will last forever. That’s what we aim to provide as your photographers—not just images, but reflections of your bond, your joy, and your future together.

La Fina Restaurant in Andover, MA, is captivating in every season, but there’s something truly enchanting about its charm in the autumn months. As the leaves turn brilliant shades of amber and crimson, the restaurant’s sleek exterior is framed by nature’s vibrant palette, creating a contrast that feels both rich and inviting. The softly glowing lights along the patio cast a cozy warmth, while the restaurant’s modern interior, with its clean lines and understated elegance, feels like the perfect blend of sophistication and intimacy. It’s a space where the crispness of fall meets timeless grace, exuding a mood that’s perfect for romance.

Our photographers embraced the moment with creativity and care, capturing their easy laughter under the trees and quiet glances amid La Fina’s refined ambiance. Every shot reflected the warmth of the season and the depth of their connection, transforming a picture-perfect location into something entirely personal and unforgettable.

Savana and Rob’s fall engagement session at La Fina Restaurant was nothing short of enchanting—a poetic love story brought to life in every detail. From the moment we stepped into the venue, it was clear that their vision was deeply personal, styled with the romance of timeless stories in mind. The space was filled with book-inspired touches, starting with the glowing “It’s a love story” neon sign—an invitation into their beautifully crafted world. Paper floral decor and vintage books graced the table centerpieces, creating an intimate atmosphere brimming with charm.

Savana, our stunning bride-to-be, looked radiant in a white mini dress adorned with sweet tulle and bow details. She added a touch of playful sophistication with matching satin gloves and white Mary Jane heels. Her high ponytail perfectly complemented the elegance of her look. Meanwhile, Rob exuded understated style in a black shirt paired with formal black trousers, accented by a sleek black belt and polished shoes—a picture-perfect match for Savana's graceful ensemble.

The couple explored every corner of the restaurant, from the warmly lit bar area to the storybook-inspired photobooth. The booth itself was a centerpiece of creativity, adorned with cascading paper flowers, heart-shaped balloons, and that magical neon light—a dream for any book lover. We couldn’t get enough of the vintage green cake, elegantly perched atop a stack of books, capturing the charm and whimsy of the day in one beautiful detail.

Each setting told its own chapter of their love story, from playful poses by the bar to gentle moments under La Fina’s moody, romantic lighting. A highlight of the session was Savana’s bridal portrait, caught in a quiet moment as she sat reading, her dress glowing softly in the ambient light. It was as if she had stepped out of the pages of a classic romance novel.

This wasn’t just an engagement shoot—it was a celebration. Friends and family joined in, their presence adding to the warmth and joy of the day. The love that surrounded Savana and Rob was palpable, enhancing every shot. The storybook decor, the candlelit ambience, and the thoughtful, bookish details reflected not just their creativity, but their shared love of meaningful moments. This session wasn’t just about beautiful photos; it was about capturing the essence of who Savana and Rob are together, and the chapters they’re now writing as one. A perfect beginning to their forever.
