The place? Cherokee Ranch and Castle in Sedalia, Colorado. With sprawling natural surroundings anchored by the Rockies in the distance and a stunning stone-laden castle at the epicenter, this location is definitely wedding-worthy, but this couple saw it as the perfect spot for their Denver engagement session.

 
Jho’leen and Ethan couldn’t have timed their late summer session better. Photographed around 6pm, the magic of golden hour was in full swing. This time of day casts such a warm and flattering flow over everyone and everything—like a dreamy filter courtesy of nature.

It’s worth noting that these two definitely scouted the location well in advance to get the lay of the land and let the gorgeous setting set the tone for their engagement session attire. Outside, Jho’leen’s breezy, ethereal blush dress radiated pure romance and softly contrasted the rough exterior of the stone cut castle walls. Ethan’s blue suit was handsome, but not stuffy and connected with the vast open sky and landscape.

As the sun set, the couple headed toward the open field and tall grasses surrounding the ranch. This setting—and their styling—were pure romance, just like in the movies.
