The moment when all the themes, color schemes and details weave seamlessly together into one beautiful package "That's when you know a wedding is truly one-of-a-kind! Well, I'm here to tell you that today's sweet affair is one of those rare gems — and the gorgeous bride is here to tell you the story of how it all came together!

Doug and I first met in college — but outside of me telling his roommate I thought he was cute, we remained only distant acquaintances for a few years! Finally, after several years of dating, he popped the question and we decided to tie the knot! When we started planning, we knew instantly that we wanted to put together the quintessential Southern California wedding, reflecting the natural beauty of the area.

We searched a variety of places throughout the Los Angeles area, as well as the surrounding cities. After much investigating, we finally fell in love with an amazing venue — Rancho Sol Del Pacifico in Malibu, CA. It's a large ranch in the northernmost part of Malibu, surrounded by beautiful mountains and a stunning view of the ocean. It wasn't the easiest to get to, but it was well worth the drive!

Being that the venue was naturally bright and gorgeous, choosing our colors for the wedding was no problem at all! Because it was spring — and because I love vibrant colors — we opted for a combination of bright coral, teal and turquoise. It doesn't sound like the easiest to match, but by playing with similar colors and combinations, we ended up with a really beautiful palette that made us smile and reflected the happiness we felt on our big day! We wanted to keep things simple yet inviting, so we paired the brightness of the venue with chalkboard signage for a playful, rustic touch.

Looking back on the entire day, we couldn't be happier! Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. We've both commented on how after five whole years together, we were still excited and nervous to take the walk down the aisle! While it all passed so quickly, I can't wait to share in all the memories made as we take our first steps into our new life together!
