Winter Break: Say Yes To a Stunning, Snowy Seattle Engagement Session

12-08-17

Beach, smeach. The sand and sea are great and all, but nothing's quite as magical as a winter wonderland. Sky-high evergreens and a powdery blanket of pristine white snow paint a majestic picture for a wintry engagement session, a la Julia and Gregory’s Seattle shoot.

Accompanied by their Seattle engagement photographer, these two ventured to the enchanting locale of West Summit of Snoqualmie pass in the Alpental ski area. Winter sessions can be stunning and unique since many people don’t choose to brave the cold! But, it’s totally worth it. The freshly fallen snow radiates a pure glow that seems to naturally illuminate every shot. It’s like you stepped out to explore a winter wonderland. We loved that Julia and Gregory’s pup made the trek, too.

This gorgeous setting needed no frills or flourishes, but Julia and Gregory made it even cozier with fun engagement session props. Cheers to their typographic mugs screenprinted with a sweet message! We also like the idea of toting along a favorite blanket to add warmth and texture to the photos—like the festive and seasonal plaid throw they wrapped up in.

Wardrobe-wise, both casual and elegant look equally at home in a snowy setting. Julia and Gregory first kept it low-key in sweaters and jeans. Then they made a quick change into formal attire and headed back out for a few more romantic shots. Julia’s long-sleeve deep plum dress is stunning against the snowy winter setting! She’s sugar plum fairy-worthy, if you ask us.

All the more reason to warm up to a winter engagement session.
