Ruddy and Mete’s Journey to the Aisle, Dallas

09-06-18

We love to look back on couples engagement sessions to see how it compares to the big day celebration. Did they switch up their style? Did they do an outdoorsy engagement session with an ultra-glam wedding? The side by side look at the journey to the aisle is always a fun one, and today we’re going back to peek at Dallas couple, Ruddy and Mete.

Ruddy and Mete had their engagement session outdoors at White Rock Lake Park in a northeast part of downtown Dallas. Their early March session came with beautiful weather. White Rock Lake Park is one of the most popular and heavily visited in the area, a perfect spot for a few scenic engagement photos.

Ruddy and Mete dressed for the occasion. The two in more elevated attire choices, Ruddy looked gorgeous in a blue ruffled dress that had great movement in the wind, while Mete looked classically handsome in a suit jacket and slacks. Although the couple came without props, the features of the park were enough to set the scene. They posed waterside on the dock, near driftwood and brick walls, and (our favorite!) on the water crossing. The couple looked genuine and sweet in front of the camera, and we loved their simplistic approach to their session. The park offered great variety for photos, too.

Just one short month after the session, the couple’s big day was here. The reception and ceremony took place at D’Vine Grace Vineyards and Event Venues.

As Ruddy and Mete prepped in separate rooms, their photographers snapped some great getting ready photos. Ruddy and Mete’s accessories for the day were documented beautifully. We love the groom portrait of Mete in the natural light of the window.

Ruddy’s bridal prep was documented in several great detail photos, too. She remembered to bring her invitation suite, which looked stunning paired with her bridal shoes, perfume, and bridal jewelry. Wedding day details are an important part of a couple's story. They’re small but are often comprised of some of the most sentimental feelings of the day.

The ceremony space was incredibly beautiful with its white hall and dark wooden beams and marble floors. The chandeliers brought romance and grandeur, while the arched windows let in tons of natural sunlight. Ruddy and Mete’s reception space was also light and bright, perfect for a springtime wedding. Pops of purples and lavenders paired well with lemon yellow accents. White linens kept the space feeling airy.

The newlyweds ended the night cutting a lovely cake, dancing, dining, and finally hopping into their getaway car for a grand exit.
