MORGAN & JOHN’S WINTER ENGAGEMENT SESSION HITS A MOUNTAIN HIGH IN DENVER

11-10-17

With sculptural mountains peeking—or peaking—up over the horizon, the Mile High city takes Morgan and John’s winter engagement session to new heights in Denver.

There’s not a flake of snow in this chilly weather session, but the overcast sky composes a painterly veil of light that acts like a filter. You can almost feel the brisk, refreshing mountain air. John and Morgan explored the Flatirons Vista in Boulder for their shoot. Rugged yet serene, this locale is quintessential Denver, where Morgan and John lounged in golden fields of wheat and Ponderosa pines dotted the landscape.

With such gorgeous natural scenery, nothing over-the-top was needed. This couple was as easy, casual and genuine as their surroundings. They kept it simple, letting their natural connection speak volumes while the stunning mountainscape created the visual impact. The authentic nature of their session looked as though these two were out going for a trail hike and their Denver engagement photographer just happened to capture it.

While they didn’t make elaborate outfit changes, Morgan and John styled their wardrobe in the most genius way to fit the scene and offer a variety of looks without turning the shoot into a fashion show. To fend off the cold, they double-layered their outfits. When Morgan and John removed their parka and puffer, they revealed cozy, textured sweaters that offered an entirely different look and color palette.

Instead of incorporating a bunch of photo props, Morgan accessorized with a classic plaid oversized scarf that doubled as a blanket. It’s like having the perfect winter prop right around your neck. All the better to cozy up together!
