They may be from Pittsburgh, but Kelsey and Todd looked totally in their element in the untamed beauty of Duluth, GA, for their rustic engagement session.

Just a short drive from Atlanta, McDaniel Farm Park served as their scenic playground for the day. This 134-acre recreation area is set on an old cotton farm with historic structures and wide open spaces that bring a sense of authenticity and freedom to every shot.

With outdoor engagement photography, timing is everything. Kelsey and Todd timed their shoot just right as day gave way to dusk and the soft light washed over them like a real-life filter. As they wandered along winding paths, leaned against wooden fences and embraced in knee-high grassy fields, nature kept things interesting with a fresh backdrop at every turn.

They definitely embraced the country soul of their shoot, dressing the part for their rustic setting. Kelsey kicked up her heels in a sweet white lace dress and cowboy boots. Todd’s checkered shirt and jeans were the perfect complement. Western accents, like a cowboy hat, western belt buckle and tassel necklace, added to the Americana authenticity and doubled as subtle props. Kelsey’s quick dress change infused their photos with a dash of color, but kept the same relaxed feel.

We have to say, the best accessory of all was their carefree, genuine smiles—especially when a favorite furry family member made a surprise appearance. Kelsey and Todd were effortless in front of the camera and that makes all the difference in capturing natural photos.

Such a breath of fresh air, start to finish.
