Very rarely do I see a wedding where the pop of color comes from the venue walls instead of the wedding itself, and I must say I absolutely love it! Between the bright blue walls of the Congress Hall and the beautiful blue ocean, a mix of neutral colors adds the perfect touch of romance to Marissa and Michael’s wedding day. I can tell this happy couple is in for a lifetime of happiness…Congratulations! Xo, Courtney

I had the hardest time preparing this wedding for you, why? Because if I could, I would include every photo from their Big Day, and narrowing it down to just this handful was close to impossible! This wedding is just so beautiful. So beautiful that I’ve contemplated ordering a couple photos for myself, despite the fact that I’ve never met the bride and groom. This is simply everything I dream an east coast wedding to be. And, I’m incredibly jealous of the photographer who got to travel to the Cushman Mansion Beach House on Block Island to shoot it. The brilliantly blue sky, the bride and groom in their perfectly-preppy wedding day finest, and the soft, pretty colors…it all just takes my breath away. Xo, Courtney

While they may be hidden underneath your dress, shoes play an incredibly important role on your big day. After all, you’re going to be standing for most of it! The mere thought of this may send your feet running for their slippers, but it’s essential that you pick a shoe you’re not only comfortable with, but confident in. Whether that’s a great pair of heels or a chic pair of flats, there’s a fashionable shoe that’s perfect for you…Just take a look at how some of our brides adorned their wedding day feet!

Happy Monday! For today’s post we’ve enlisted the help of the bride herself – Briana. From the proposal to the very last detail, we asked Briana all the questions we were dying to know and she’s letting us share her answers with you! We hope hearing it from the bride herself will help as you plan your big day!

How did you and Ryan meet?

Ryan and I went to Junior High and High School together in Duncanville, Texas. We had the same group of friends, so we were with each other all the time. At first it was just flirting and then we finally started dating our senior year!

How did Ryan propose?

It was on Valentine’s Day of last year, 2011. I had been at work all day and when I arrived back at home my apartment was filled with flowers and candles and Ryan had prepared this freshly cooked meal. We had a beautiful dinner, and then he asked if I was ready for my Valentine’s day gift. He blind folded me with a tie, and vocally lead me around the apartment with the “hot” and “cold” game. When I was finally “hot” I took off the blindfold and there he was….down on one knee with a stunning ring! Five and a half years together, of course I cried and said YES!

What was the biggest source of inspiration for your wedding style, details, etc.?

I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and searching the internet.I have an extremely bright personality, I love spring, and I love pinks and purples. So, bright springy colors like hot pink, light pink, lavenders and greens were a MUST!

Did you try on a lot of dresses before you picked the one that you wore on your wedding day? How did you know it was “the one”?

Surprisingly, my wedding dress was actually the second dress I tried on! It sounds cliché, but when I saw myself in that dress my girlfriends and I immediately started crying. So, I knew it had to be “the one”. I actually have a video of me saying ‘yes’ to the dress!

Looking back, what was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

Besides the AMAZING time at our reception, I have to say the walk down the aisle with my dad is unforgettable. We were married in an outdoor ceremony at Rock Creek Ranch in McKinney, Texas and walkway was a good minute long, so I took that moment in as best I could. I wanted to see Ryan’s reaction at the first moment he saw me, so I had my uncle – the judge— tell Ryan to turn around when I was at the beginning of the walkway. The minute he saw my dad and I standing there he had to grab his face to wipe a tear. I will never forget that moment and I’m so glad George Street captured that moment!

What was the first song that you and Ryan danced to?

Cowboy Lady by Jason Aldean

What advice would you give a-bride-to-be in the process of planning her wedding?

First and foremost, enjoy yourself! Everything will come together, so there’s no need to stress about the small details. Second, don’t be afraid to ask your family and friends for help!

I love it when vibrant shades come together with pastels! Soft blue & soft pink with pops of red create such a fun & unique wedding palette. One of my favorites is the idea of pairing the red gerbera flowers with the sky blue bridesmaids dresses! Another fab idea is filling blue mason jars with pink & red roses as a simple, yet gorgeous centerpiece. Are you considering this lovely palette for your big day?

Megan & Jaime are absolutely adorable in this LA wedding! I love the unique bridesmaids dresses, her lace gown, and her outdoor ceremony is definitely one to remember!

This color combination is so fun & fresh! If you’re the kind of bride who LOVES color this is a great option for you. If you’d like something more subtle try adding hints of these shades for a nice pop!

This post is for all of you color lovers out there! Neons are going to be huge in 2012 so we thought we’d put some inspiration out there for those of you who are wanting to add a burst of color to your special day. Not feeling brave enough to smother your whole wedding in these neon hues? Try adding small touches of neon here and there that will pop without being too overwhelming. Using a bright backdrop for photos or having brightly colored treats for your guests are both great ideas!

Hot pink is such a fun color that I couldn’t help but make an entire post about it! I just love how it stands out in pictures. Whether it’s used in the flowers, the heels or the getaway car- it looks fantastic!
