We have a special treat for everyone today! Instead of me gushing about Rebecca and Thomas’ stunning wedding, we’ve enlisted the bride herself to spill all the details….

I was not the little girl who dreamt up every detail of her wedding, which is surprising because I am a planner at heart. I always have a list of things going. To me, the wedding was something I wanted the man I was to marry to contribute ideas to. As we began planning, it became clear we had different ideas. My vision of muted pinks, mint green and white was quickly vetoed. So, I asked him what his ideal wedding color scheme would be, and I kid you not, the man I love more than life itself answered “rainbow”. Literally wanted a rainbow on his tie. After both calling each other crazy, we dropped the discussion to talk about again after more realistic thought went into it. Neither of us knew what direction to take in fear of getting our ideas shot down again so we turned to the experts of pinterest. Those who had gone before us. We searched high and low, and then suddenly, there it was. I saw one of the most beautiful flower arrangements and had to have them, and Tommy felt the same….

It wasn’t a simple color scheme either. Dark blue. Light blue. Orange. Gray. White. I wish I could thank the bride who used these flowers in her wedding because I literally had the same exact bouquet, down to the ribbon. Thank you random person, you made my wedding beautiful. And Laura Williams, a dear friend and true artist in the field of flowers, made that bouquet come to life at our wedding. When I look back on our wedding day, I can’t help but mention how beautiful those flowers are. The inspiration behind every other decorative piece of our wedding….

One of the easiest decisions we made for our wedding, was dessert. I had my first taste of Sprinkles Cupcakes in Chicago sometime around Fall of 2010. You could call me obsessed, but I like to think of myself as a connoisseur. Though I never really liked the idea of cupcakes instead of an actual cake at a wedding, I knew I would be happiest with Sprinkles, and even saved money this way. In fact, it was such a happy revelation when I realized every anniversary could be celebrated with a fresh cupcake (but thankfully Tom brings them home for me more often than is healthy, but neither of us are complaining). I had so much fun looking around finding different cake stands, and even making some myself. Opting for cupcakes gave me the opportunity to get more creative with my wedding. Adding fabric strips behind the table was just the touch it needed….

For a day that we’ll remember forever, we’re still so glad we get to take home all the beautiful picture reminders of the day we became one. And for that, we have George Street Photography to thank. It is impossible to take in everything that happens on your wedding day. I’ve already had moments where I ask myself “did I remember to…” and have to look back through pictures to remind myself. Investing in the memory of our wedding was our first priority and we’re so happy we did. Our wedding lasted one day – but it was the start of our forever. Our always. For this we are blessed and humbled. What an amazing journey getting to that day was, and how amazing it still is!

Today’s wedding color inspiration is an homage to one of our favorite holiday’s — Thanksgiving! And, in celebration of this homely holiday we decided to add a fun, fresh take to the traditional turkey day colors. Accenting the warm fall browns, oranges and creams is a color that we don’t typically see at many weddings, aqua. While a powerful color alone, aqua adds the perfect touch to any soft-hued fall wedding palette!

Happy Monday and Happy October! Today’s wedding could not be any more timely, as it just screams FALL — a time when all our brights go into storage and the darker, muskier hues grace our hangers. The light sage green bridesmaids dresses topped off with a brown belt perfectly compliment Karen’s lace, off the shoulder, ivory detailed gown. As if that isn’t enough, our happy couple picked the most breathtaking backdrop of them all, the Rocky Mountains! Xo, Megan

While it means the cold weather is near, we just love fall! After a long hot summer, there’s nothing better than breaking out those comfy sweaters and watching the green leaves transform into a breathtaking array of oranges and reds. And, what better way to get in the spirit of the season than with some equally gorgeous fall wedding colors and details!

SUCH a beautiful Fall wedding! I love the colors, the gown & the details. Plus, don’t you think orange is such a fun color for weddings?! Love it!

The belt on Katie’s wedding dress really adds that special touch, and I totally adore her umbrella!

Happy Monday! Wanted to start the week off with a burst of color. Orange shades for weddings has to be one of my favorites, I love the boldness of it in photos. If you’re considering this shade check out Amy & Jim’s wedding for inspiration.

I am in LOVE with their ceremony decor! The white chivalry chairs, the beautiful green flowers on the chairs, & the orange roses lining the aisle- all so gorgeous!

Fall sessions are one of my favorites!! And this one of Graylin & Taylor makes me want to rewind to October & enjoy the beauty of it all. I love the gorgeous red trees in Chicago’s millennium park, the leaves on the ground & the awesome style these two have!

Love how Graylin’s royal blue sweater really pops in the photos. Something fun for couples to do during their engagement session is to change their outfits from casual to dressy to really show off their personal style!

We know Fall has passed, but I was inspired to share this beautiful Fall wedding! Meghan & Jacob chose such perfect colors for their theme, & I am in love with their patterned place cards/menu’s.

The cake topper was beyond amazing! So many gorgeous flowers on top of a delicious cake! Makes me wish I was there… ;)
