We are changing things up this week on the blog! While we LOVE mixing and matching wedding details to provide you with weekly inspiration, we haven’t been showing our creative engagement sessions enough TLC. A first step in the wedding process is always sending out those “Save The Date” cards, and what better way to share the news than with a photo of you and your fiancée? So, before you get overwhelmed about what to send your guests…Take some inspiration from our creative brides to be!

While it means the cold weather is near, we just love fall! After a long hot summer, there’s nothing better than breaking out those comfy sweaters and watching the green leaves transform into a breathtaking array of oranges and reds. And, what better way to get in the spirit of the season than with some equally gorgeous fall wedding colors and details!

We know looking your best on your wedding day is not an option, it’s an absolute MUST. So, when it comes to wedding day makeup what’s the best route?
Well, from the wise words of Bobbi Brown, “bridal makeup is not the time to experiment or try a new trend. The pictures from your wedding need to be classic and timeless. The bride needs to look like herself at her prettiest” (via Blissfully Domestic). We couldn’t agree more, and these real brides are living proof that you can look both drop-dead-gorgeous and fresh-faced on your big day!

Mason jars, string lights, wood…Oh my! There is nothing that exudes comfort and romance more than DIY vintage details. Why do we love them so much? We’ll…because they are a perfect expression of YOU, and that’s exactly how your wedding should be! Whether it’s your childhood bedroom windowpane or pearls hanging from the candelabras, it’s something that you and your significant other created together — filled with your imperfections, personality traits and all that makes you both unique and perfect together. These are some of our favorite vintage details, but we hope you’ll take the time to create something originally YOU for your big day!

Forget about the bride and groom, these monogrammed wire toppers are taking the cake! We love how our brides are using monograms to get more personal with their tiered delicacies. What we love even more is that these wire wedding toppers make for a perfect decoration on your bedroom wall or door — something you just can’t get with a traditional wedding cake!

While they may not be ideal for a fall or winter wedding, royal blues and lime greens are always a fantastic go-to color combo for the spring and summer. If used with creative patterns, like polka dots, these colors will add the perfect amount of pep to your big day. Plus, preppy never goes out of style – just ask Ralph Lauren. xo, Meg

Ok ladies, with all the new (and old) trends floating around these days we are dying to know…what’s your bridal style? Are you like me and have trouble deciding? I’d have to say I’m a lace lover myself but with a devotion to the simple/classic look as well. It is obvious that “vintage” will never go out of style and I love how many wedding gowns these days combine romantic elements from the past (such as lace) with more modern flairs. Luckily there are so many gorgeous options that you’re bound to turn heads no matter what your style is! Comment below, we’d love to hear your thoughts! xo, Meg

I’m a big believer in the acronym K.I.S.S (keep it simple silly). If you’re struggling to decide on a color palette for your wedding, don’t rule out black & white. It may seem simple or obvious, but depending on the details you choose, this palette can go in many different directions, especially when paired with certain shades of gray: Elegant and sophisticated, modern and edgy or classic and romantic. So if you’re not sure what you want your wedding palette to be or you’re just looking for a little inspiration, check out this simple palette below and let me know what you think!
I think these three colors together are brilliant! Full of life and perfect for ANY season! I love how the brightness of orange looks paired with a softer green and a classic white. What do you think? Considering incorporating these lovely shades into your day?
