Wedding Summer Rustic DIY Outdoor Country Details Flowers

EMILY & WALKER’S ECO-CHIC AFFAIR, AUSTIN

10-11-17

Reduce, reuse, relax. That’s the beauty of Emily and Walker’s Austin wedding. Eco-friendly with rustic flair, the sparse nature of the details made it special. Not a thing was wasted or overthought.

Vista West Ranch provided an eclectic mix of scenery for their Austin wedding photographer to explore, from sylvan pastures and lush greenery to vintage cars and an industrial barn.

Emily’s wedding dress was simple yet romantic. Cinched by a jeweled ribbon belt, her gown cascaded a lace texture from the delicate straps to the tiered bottom. Walker looked sharp in a gray three-piece suit. The groom’s boutonniere was a delicate succulent that tied into the green theme and surroundings. What a fresh idea! The mismatched bridesmaids dresses complemented the serene surroundings with a soft spectrum of pale blush to deep mauve.

With its absence of excess, the eco-friendly philosophy carried into Emily and Walker’s outdoor ceremony. Their altar was gorgeous - just a simple wooden structure with an arch of beautiful white wildflowers.

In lieu of a guestbook, the bride and groom had guests grab a pen and leave some advice on a piece of paper. A clothespinned photo wall served as a fun backdrop for inspiration. Reading these gems of advice will make a great activity for your first wedding anniversary!

Inside the barn was the reception. Airy and simple, the space was complemented by minimal decor and those unique light fixtures - woven spheres of twinkling natural fiber.
Emily and Walker opted for communal wood farm tables set with rustic centerpieces, minimal linens and mismatched chairs. Mason jars and recycled bottles were filled with fresh-cut wildflowers, pedestaled on a slice of wood.

The party favors? Tiny succulents planted in tin cups. A bit of green to go!
