Kansas City brides Brittany and McKenzie made their big day anything but over the top - and that’s exactly what made it so special. Hosted in a private backyard, their intimate wedding was a dream - the perfect setting to say “I do.”

Refined-chic to a tee, each bride expressed her own personal wedding style. McKenzie looked slick and debonair in a tone-on-tone black suit, sans jacket. And those splatter painted Converse? Everything! She was the perfect contrast to Brittany’s romantic style - a wedding dress that practically floated in a strapless silhouette gathered with soft pleats and a bejeweled belt. 

Miles away from monochromatic, Brittany’s bridal bouquet radiated color in a wildflower-like way. Her gorgeous arrangement was composed of sunflowers, thistle and dahlias. In lieu of a veil, Brittany topped off her look with a boho-inspired flower crown that echoed her garden bouquet.

The mismatched bridesmaid dresses flowed from the lace bodice to breezy skirt in serene shades of blue and slate grey. Soft, undone hair and varying necklines complemented the easygoing vibe.

Both the reception and ceremony were held outdoors, creating a relaxed vibe that makes for the most natural wedding photography. Their creative wedding signage served as functional decor, with rustic wood panels inviting guests to sit where they please at the ceremony. Chalkboard signs directed partygoers to the reception where photos were charmingly strewn with clothespins.

We love the nearly naked look of Brittany and MacKenzie's wedding cake, finished with just a thin layer of frosting and succulents - swoon! Those same on-trend botanicals also flourished on the reception tables. Dozens of rosette-frosted cupcakes encircled the bottom tiers of the rustic timber cake display.
