Happy Monday! For today’s post we’ve enlisted the help of the bride herself – Briana. From the proposal to the very last detail, we asked Briana all the questions we were dying to know and she’s letting us share her answers with you! We hope hearing it from the bride herself will help as you plan your big day!

How did you and Ryan meet?

Ryan and I went to Junior High and High School together in Duncanville, Texas. We had the same group of friends, so we were with each other all the time. At first it was just flirting and then we finally started dating our senior year!

How did Ryan propose?

It was on Valentine’s Day of last year, 2011. I had been at work all day and when I arrived back at home my apartment was filled with flowers and candles and Ryan had prepared this freshly cooked meal. We had a beautiful dinner, and then he asked if I was ready for my Valentine’s day gift. He blind folded me with a tie, and vocally lead me around the apartment with the “hot” and “cold” game. When I was finally “hot” I took off the blindfold and there he was….down on one knee with a stunning ring! Five and a half years together, of course I cried and said YES!

What was the biggest source of inspiration for your wedding style, details, etc.?

I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and searching the internet.I have an extremely bright personality, I love spring, and I love pinks and purples. So, bright springy colors like hot pink, light pink, lavenders and greens were a MUST!

Did you try on a lot of dresses before you picked the one that you wore on your wedding day? How did you know it was “the one”?

Surprisingly, my wedding dress was actually the second dress I tried on! It sounds cliché, but when I saw myself in that dress my girlfriends and I immediately started crying. So, I knew it had to be “the one”. I actually have a video of me saying ‘yes’ to the dress!

Looking back, what was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

Besides the AMAZING time at our reception, I have to say the walk down the aisle with my dad is unforgettable. We were married in an outdoor ceremony at Rock Creek Ranch in McKinney, Texas and walkway was a good minute long, so I took that moment in as best I could. I wanted to see Ryan’s reaction at the first moment he saw me, so I had my uncle – the judge— tell Ryan to turn around when I was at the beginning of the walkway. The minute he saw my dad and I standing there he had to grab his face to wipe a tear. I will never forget that moment and I’m so glad George Street captured that moment!

What was the first song that you and Ryan danced to?

Cowboy Lady by Jason Aldean

What advice would you give a-bride-to-be in the process of planning her wedding?

First and foremost, enjoy yourself! Everything will come together, so there’s no need to stress about the small details. Second, don’t be afraid to ask your family and friends for help!
